This Brisbane-based full time permanent role will be accountable for maintenance and administration of all tenement related task throughout Australia for the exploration team.

Rio Tinto Exploration - Australia has an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for a senior, high-profile tenement advisor role. This Brisbane-based full time permanent role will be accountable for maintenance and administration of all tenement related task throughout Australia for the exploration team.
Reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager - Australasia Region, your duties will include:
- The administration and maintenance of the LeaseControl tenement database ensuring information is accurately recorded and maintained.
- Maintaining an effective back-up reminder date system that records and provides advance notification of due date, expiry, surrender and payment obligations, expenditure and responsible person/party.
- Provision of mineral rights administration services according to Service Agreements with RT Group affiliates.
- Regular reporting and communications to key stakeholders.
- Ensure completion of mineral title-related payments.
- Counsel to on-going team projects including the improvement of tenement systems, tenure defence and opportunities strategies.
- Ensuring strict compliance with Rio Tinto standards, legislative and statutory requirements in respect to tenement/tenure, maintenance of the tenement/tenure management system, implementation of improvements to business system processes.
The successful applicant will have:
- Experience with the day-to-day administration and senior-level tasks of exploration-related projects
- A minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Australian state-based Mining Acts (Queensland and NT essential) and legislation.
- Experience with LeaseControl or Flexicadastre databases would be desirable.
- Good knowledge of Native Title Act procedures and legislation.
- A background in the mining/resource industry is a must.
- High level of attention to detail is essential to be successful in this position .
- Range of network contacts within Australian mineral titles industry.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
